Spanish Day

What a fantastic way to kick start International Week! Saint Mary’s were lucky enough to have 12 pupils from Humberston Academy along with the wonderful Miss Pena for a fun-filled Spanish day. The children took part in a variety of activities. The first being a language activity where the children learnt how to count to 12, introduce themselves, say their name and where they live and finally what activities they like and dislike. After that, the children created puppets to describe themselves. Next, they learnt about 4 Spanish traditional festivals and created posters, in a competition, to see who could be the most persuasive advertising for people to attend the festival. Finally, the children explored the story of Christopher Columbus and all of the Spanish speaking countries around the world. I think I speak on behalf of the children when I say what a fabulous yet exhausting day!
