Mrs Hill - FS1 Teacher
I started working at Saint Mary's in 2014 and I am really enjoying it. This year I am working in Nursery. I have been teaching for many years and I previously worked as a Foundation Stage leader. I have a good understanding of how young children learn and I am looking forward to helping them progress.
Mrs Rushworth- FS2 Teacher
I have been at Saint Mary’s Catholic Primary Academy for 17 years and during this time I have supported lots of different classes. I taught Year 1 for 5 years and I have been the Reception Class teacher and Early Years Lead for the last 3 Years. Saint Mary’s is a school close to my heart having been a pupil here myself. I’m passionate about helping children learn and grow and feel honoured and privileged to be working with the young children of Saint Mary’s. Their learning is very important to me and I try to make every day an adventure. I enjoy making the foundation unit an exciting and special place for your child to grow and develop.
Mrs Howie - Year 1 Teacher
This will be my third year teaching at Saint Mary’s. I am very excited to be starting this new phase in my career and teaching in year 1. I am a very creative teacher and as the schools Art Coordinator it is my goal to ensure all the children have engaging learning opportunities and are encouraged to believe in themselves to be the best they can be.
Mrs Ellis - Year 2 Teacher
I am very excited to be joining Saint Mary's Primary Academy this year and embarking on an exciting journey with year 2, as well as being responsible for Maths. I have enjoyed teaching across both key stages and am passionate about motivating children to become independent learners and encouraging them to have a growth mindset, as I believe all children have the potential to achieve their goals.
Mr Pickerden - Year 2 Teacher
I am very pleased to be joining Saint Mary’s this year and I am looking forward to helping the academy move forward and continue to make progress. I believe every child has the right to experience outstanding teaching and that is what I aim to deliver for my class. That sense of high expectation, enthusiasm for the role and aspiration for the future is what I bring to the classroom and what I hope to embody for my pupils every day. In my spare time I enjoy taking part in a plethora of sport and physical activities. As such, Physical Education is a curriculum and teaching passion of mine. I intend to be the very best that I can be, both inside and outside the classroom. Therefore, I aim to ensure that my children are also always striving to be the very best that they can be.
