Salt Dough Earth
Yesterday, 26th April, Year 4 created their very own salt dough Earth. They looked closely at each individual layer that makes up the Earth and then followed instructions carefully to make salt dough and dye it to the corresponding colour. The final layer was the Earth’s crust which the children created using little pieces of blue and green to represent the tectonic plates. They had lots of fun and we think the end results look fantastic!
Today (12/06/2018) in maths, year 4 did a recapping lesson looking at acute, obtuse and right angles. We had a fun, interactive start to the lesson with whereby we identified all of the angles that we could see from the tape that had been put on the tables. We drew straight onto the tables after discussing with our partner exactly how we knew it was obtuse, acute or right-angled. We then moved onto regular and irregular 2D-shapes, looking at the angles within them.
