Saint Mary’s Royal Wedding Street Party (18-05-2018)
Like the rest of the academy, Year 2 had a fabulous time eating and playing in the sunshine. We created a carnival like atmosphere to rival the fabled street parties of old and enjoyed lots of healthy treats as we listened to music and chatted about the upcoming Royal Wedding with our friends. Everyone at Saint Mary’s Primary Catholic Academy sends their congratulations to the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Year 4 Celebrations
18/05/18 – On Friday, Year 4 had a fantastic day celebrating the Royal Wedding. We looked at famous royal weddings throughout history; we used our maths skills to solve who has stolen all of the wedding presents and we looked closely at Harry and Meghan’s love story. The children looked fantastic dressed in red, white and blue. They all thoroughly enjoyed their banquet in the sunshine too!
Year 2 Royal Wedding
Holding our very own Royal Wedding (18-05-2018)
This afternoon Year 2 staged and performed their very own Royal Wedding. Having come to school dressed to impress the Princes and Princesses walked down the aisle to be married by the Bishop. All children embraced the opportunity to act out lots of different roles, from princes to page boys and princesses to flower girls. We had a royal time!
Royal Wedding PE – Fencing competition
Year 2 finished the week in style as they took part in a competitive fencing PE session. They had spent the previous weeks honing their skills and then took part in this medieval style tournament. Dressed as Princes and Princesses for the Royal Wedding, the children really got into the spirit of the event and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
