HARVEST FESTIVAL
As part of our Catholic mission to live out the Gospel values of love, generosity and service, we will be celebrating our Harvest Festival at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School.
Harvest Festival is a special opportunity for us to give thanks to God for the many blessings we receive and to reflect on those who may be less fortunate than ourselves. Throughout the week, the children will be learning about the importance of gratitude, caring for others and supporting our local community.
We would be very grateful for donations of non-perishable food items such as:
• Tinned vegetables, soup and fruit
• Pasta, rice and noodles
• Cereal and porridge
• Tea, coffee and long-life milk
• Biscuits and other cupboard essentials
We kindly ask that donations are brought into school by Thursday October 22. We shall be holding our Harvest Festival assembly on Friday October 23 after the awards assembly. Children will have the opportunity to present their gifts during our Harvest celebration and prayer service, which will be donated to the We Are One Foundation.
Thank you for your continued generosity and support. Together, we can help make a real difference to those in our community and demonstrate the love of Christ through our actions.
We are please that our school will be working with IntoUniverity again this year.
What they do – IntoUniversity centres offer a welcoming home-from-home for young people: a safe space to learn, explore and succeed. Each local centre offers an innovative programme that supports young people aged seven and up to realise their ambitions, achieve their academic potential, develop vital skills and gain experience of the world of work.
IntoUniversity has been working at the heart of communities since 2002, and now operates 46 learning centres in 29 UK towns and cities. We have ambitious plans to expand to 50 centres by 2027 and work with thousands more young people in need of our support.
In every location we bring about positive, measurable change. Our annual results show that with our help, thousands of young people achieve their chosen aspiration, including university, further and higher education, employment and work-based training.

We take our responsibility of catering for today’s children and young adults seriously. Our dishes are prepared fresh every day, using high-quality, seasonal ingredients that are responsibly
sourced. Our trusted suppliers and traceable supply chain can ensure the provenance of all produce. Our dishes are created and served by experienced and enthusiastic teams who care about both what’s on the plate and the message behind it. It’s about helping children build a positive relationship with eating, and supporting their ongoing food and nutrition journey.
Special diets and food allergies!
Don’t worry if your child has a special diet, allergies, intolerances or dietary needs due to religious or cultural reasons – this is an important part of what we do. We already cater for lots of children with dietary requirements and follow strict food safety procedures. We are proud to be a Corporate Partner of The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. It is the only UK-based charity that funds medical research into the causes and preventions of food allergies. The mission of the charity is to make allergy history – starting with food allergies.
